About TRON DAO
TRON DAO is a community-governed decentralized autonomous organization (DAO) committed to accelerating the decentralization of the internet through blockchain technology and decentralized applications (DApps).
TRON was founded by Justin Sun in September 2017. Since the launch of its mainnet in May 2018, TRON has achieved numerous milestones. In July 2018, the TRON ecosystem integrated BitTorrent, a pioneer in decentralized Web 3.0 services with over 100 million monthly active users. In recent years, the TRON network has demonstrated outstanding performance. According to TRONSCAN data, as of March 2023, the TRON blockchain surpassed 217.61 million user accounts, recorded over 7.27 billion transactions, and achieved a total value locked (TVL) exceeding $25.91 billion.
Moreover, since April 2021, the circulating supply of USDT on TRON has exceeded that on Ethereum, making it the largest globally. TRON achieved full decentralization in December 2021 and is now a community-governed DAO. In October 2022, the Commonwealth of Dominica designated TRON as its official national blockchain infrastructure, making TRON the first major public blockchain to partner with a sovereign nation on blockchain infrastructure development. TRON has been authorized to issue blockchain-based fan tokens—Dominica Coin (DMC)—to elevate Dominica's global profile. Additionally, seven native TRON tokens (TRX, BTT, NFT, JST, USDD, USDT, and TUSD) have been granted legal digital currency status in Dominica.
