A Recap of NFT Taipei's Top Speaker Insights, OneOffs Expo, and the Ultimate Music Festival
This article takes you through the highlights of NFT Taipei.

Taiwan's premier 2023 blockchain event, NFT Taipei, successfully concluded last weekend at the Songshan Cultural and Creative Park in Taipei. As a flagship NFT gathering, it brought together top Web3 leaders, projects, and dozens of emerging artists and blue-chip NFTs from over thirty countries, attracting nearly ten thousand attendees. This article recaps the highlights of NFT Taipei.
Star-Studded NFT Taipei International Forum
This year’s international forum featured diverse topics including Web3 market trends, AI integration with blockchain, ESG roles in blockchain, regulatory impacts on NFTs, and digital art transformation—featuring numerous high-profile speakers.
Yat Siu, founder of Animoca Brands, emphasized the importance of global Web3 development, pointing out that centralized giants of the Web2 era such as OpenAI, Apple, and Facebook have amassed vast user data, creating global inequality.
The rise of blockchain and Web3 has rekindled hope and opportunity for young people disillusioned with the future. The concept of decentralization offers them a chance to transform the status quo and realize upward mobility.
Yat Siu believes that NFTs are more akin to extensions of human culture. He compared blue-chip Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC) to Hermès Birkin bags: “People buy NFTs much like luxury handbags—not primarily for utility, but as symbols of status and identity.”

Uenuma Ikuma, Chief Strategy Officer of Japanese project Akiverse, discussed challenges in GameFi, noting that past games lacked sufficient content and overly prioritized short-term cash flow, lacking long-term vision. He advocated integrating social innovation—such as public welfare services—to enrich game content.
Justin Sun, founder of TRON and leader of Huobi, shared his vision for NFT art, expressing belief that each generation defines itself through unique artistic expressions, and that on-chain art represents our era’s creativity and perspective. Building the NFT ecosystem is forming a new social consciousness.

Beyond Finance: Why Do We Need Web3?
Beyond financial applications, how else can blockchain transform our lives?
Lin Chun-Cheng, founder of Ganle Cultural & Creative, offered an intriguing insight: in Taiwan, non-GMO soybeans may only truly be non-GMO in about 1% of cases behind the scenes. However, blockchain’s transparency and immutability could become key to redefining local revitalization.
Dr. Zhao Shih-Lung, Commissioner of Taipei City Government Information Office, shared lessons from Web3’s open governance philosophy. Citing the example of the mask map developed during the pandemic, he noted it wasn’t built by the government alone, but emerged organically when civic developers were given tools and APIs.
The Taipei City Dashboard Open Source Initiative aims to create an “Android for dashboards,” enabling replication and expansion of similar experiences across domains, integrating microservices like TaipeiPass to foster co-creation between government and citizens.
Kao Chien-Chien, founder of LikeCoin, stated: “Democracy should not be limited to elections and voting.” He believes DAOs should operate independently of any specific nation or government registration, and with fully transparent data and assets, DAOs may represent an ideal model for digital democracy.

OneOffs Fair & Fest
The third edition of the fair, themed “O dash O – Zero Distance,” delivered a visual and sensory feast. By bridging the gap to art, it explored multifaceted relationships between collecting behaviors and collectibles—covering streetwear culture, brand identity, next-gen collectors, and physical-digital convergence—through diverse curation and special exhibition zones, guiding collectors into new frontiers of digital art.
Featured artists included Canadian artist Paul Brain, Spanish artist Javier Calleja, Scottish artist Philip Colbert, Japanese skateboard artist Haroshi, Taiwanese artists Sui Xiao Long Nv, Equninoz Chang Yi-Te, Wu Che-Yu, blue-chip NFT collaboration BAYC, MADE BY APES streetwear collabs, Lootex blockchain gaming showcase, and more—presenting a wide spectrum of contemporary art styles. NFT Taipei x OneOffs VIP Party
The most electrifying moment of the event was undoubtedly the VIP opening party co-hosted by OneOffs and Ultra Taiwan, merging an art fair with an electronic music festival. Renowned domestic and international DJs delivered high-energy performances, while BBOY dance crews energized the crowd.
Guests also enjoyed five signature cocktails crafted exclusively by Co.01, Taiwan’s international mixology champion, offering a fusion experience of visual art and cocktail craftsmanship. TIN TIN STUDIO presented the “Artail Project,” conceptualized by art curator Ding Chun-Cheng. The term “Artail” blends Art + Cocktail, symbolizing the union of art and mixology.

First-Ever Integration of Smart AI Assistant
This year’s exhibition debuted a “Smart AI Assistant” powered by MomentX’s enterprise-grade AI SaaS platform. Acting as a personal event navigator throughout, it provided human-like personalized responses to common visitor inquiries—including forum schedules, speaker bios, and activity details—offering firsthand experience of the revolutionary business potential at the intersection of AI and blockchain.
NFT Ticket Empowerment
Attendees also received a commemorative official NFT from NFT Taipei—an exclusive digital collectible with multiple practical utilities.
Holders can redeem special discounts and perks at renowned brands including Synnex Lifestyle, Timberland, Reebok, W Hotel, Mandarin Oriental, Sleep No More, Bar Pun, KFC, and others. Redemption available until December 31.
