This article is provided by ETHGlobal with essential information and details about the event to help you prepare for attending ETHGlobal Tokyo. Below is the main content.

Ready for ETHGlobal Tokyo? In the coming weeks, thousands of Web3 developers and creatives will gather in one of the world’s coolest cities for a weekend-long hackathon and workshops. ETHGlobal Tokyo is our first in-person event of the year—you won’t want to miss it. Given how busy the event will be, we thought it would be helpful to provide attendees with some quick tips so you can hit the ground running in April.
Step 1: Register

Upon arrival at Toranomon Hills, head to the registration desk to collect your badge, wristband, and swag bag. We’ll have registration open for everyone over two days. Join us on Thursday, April 13th to avoid lines on Friday!
-
Early registration – 2 PM local time, April 13, Floors 4 and 5, Toranomon Hills Forum
-
Main registration – 2 PM local time, April 14, Floors 4 and 5, Toranomon Hills Forum
Complete check-in at ETHGlobal Tokyo by finishing these 3 simple steps:
-
Have your ID ready
-
Pick up your hacker/sponsor/speaker badge and wristband
-
Grab your swag bag!
Note: Although we encourage early registration to avoid lines, you will not be able to enter the venue before the official opening hours. You must wear your badge and wristband at all times to access the event space.
Step 2: Venue Information
- Toranomon Hills Forum – Floors 4 and 5 of Toranomon Hills Mori Tower
Once registered, you’re free to enjoy everything ETHGlobal Tokyo has to offer. We’ve lined up many activities throughout the weekend that you’ll love. As always, food and drinks will be provided, so sit back, relax, and get hacking!
Things to keep in mind:
-
Please bring your own laptop and charger—we won’t be providing them. Make sure you have the appropriate plug adapter for your device.
-
All attendees will have access to meals and snacks from Friday, April 15 through Sunday, April 17.
-
You’ll have 24/7 access to the venue.
We know you’ll be working hard, but we encourage you to take breaks from time to time (and share your experience on social media!). Feel free to post whatever you’d like—we love showcasing what our hackers are building. Also, don’t miss the chance to connect with our partners, who are all eager to meet you.
Step 3: Project Submission and Judging
Our project submission and judging process is designed to make it easy for you to receive feedback on your work. You’ll submit your project via the Hacker Dashboard, but you won’t receive your judging appointment until you show up at the main judging lounge on Sunday morning.
-
Step 1: Show up at the judging lounge
-
Step 2: Receive your judging appointment
-
Step 3: Present your project in person to judges in your assigned room
-
Step 4: Present to partners at their tables (if interested in partner prizes)
As with all our events, you’ll have the opportunity to present your project to an expert panel from the ecosystem. We believe this is crucial for enabling developers and creatives like you to connect face-to-face with people behind projects you've worked on or hope to work on someday!
Note: If you don't wish to compete for the final prizes, you do not need to participate in main judging.
Step 4: Celebrate!

After submitting your project, take a moment to relax. Once we’ve reviewed all submissions, we’ll reach out via Discord to shortlisted teams and give them the opportunity to present their projects on stage. Regardless of how many awards you win, you’ll join the select group of builders who launched their projects at an ETHGlobal hackathon.
Note: If selected as a finalist for ETHGlobal Tokyo, we’ll notify you via Discord at 2:00 PM local time (before the closing ceremony). Please check Discord frequently to avoid missing the announcement.
While we do select finalists from each event, it's important to remember that hackathons are more about personal growth than competition. We encourage all hackers to take risks, try new things, and build fearlessly—we can’t wait to see what you create!
Safety at ETHGlobal Tokyo
We're working hard to create the best possible environment for you during your time in Tokyo. Like any major city, there are inherent risks for travelers, and Tokyo is no exception. Please read our "Tokyo City Tips" document to prepare for the event!
To support these efforts, we'll be strictly enforcing our badge and wristband policy. You must present your badge and wristband to security personnel at all times to enter the venue. Do not remove or share your badge or wristband with others. Finally, please let us know if anyone (or anything) makes you feel unsafe—we’re committed to making you feel welcome and supported.
Final Thoughts

We’ve done a lot of planning for ETHGlobal Tokyo and can’t wait to see all of you. Our in-person events over the past year have been incredible, and Tokyo is shaping up to be one of the best yet. If you have any questions or just want to chat with someone on our team, don’t hesitate to reach out. And if you haven’t applied yet—what are you waiting for? Submit your application, pack your bags, and get ready to build in Tokyo!
