Burnt is building XION, the first modular universal abstraction layer purpose-built for consumer adoption, delivering seamless user experiences for everyday users.
XION's universal abstraction layer includes protocol-level abstractions across accounts, signatures, gas, interoperability, pricing, devices, payments, and more. By abstracting away all crypto complexities, XION enables the development of next-generation projects that bring Web3 to a global mainstream audience.
Key features of the project include:
Universal Abstraction: An infrastructure solution designed to abstract away all complexities through protocol-level implementation and address key challenges hindering widespread blockchain industry adoption.
Meta-Accounts: XION's protocol-level abstracted accounts decouple the traditional private-key/public-key model, enabling intuitive, Web2-like user experiences. This includes multiple authentication methods, key rotation, account recovery, cross-device usage, and more.
Signature Abstraction: XION's signature-agnostic meta-accounts allow users to easily log in to XION applications using familiar Web2 methods such as email, biometrics, and virtually any cryptographic signing scheme. While users no longer need to install Metamask or other crypto wallets, these are still supported, allowing XION to serve all audiences.
Device Abstraction: By eliminating the need for users to directly manage private keys, users can seamlessly interact with applications across devices, enhancing accessibility and security.
Parametrized Fee Layer: A novel approach to network fee handling that abstracts gas fees from the end-user perspective, enabling XION to be fully priced in USDC and allowing transactions across the network to accept any token.
Abstracted Interoperability: A solution that extends the functionality of XION's meta-accounts to enable interoperability across all connected ecosystems, significantly enhancing cross-chain user experiences.
On January 17, 2022, Burnt (XION) completed an $8 million Series A funding round led by Animoca Brands.
