TechFlow, on September 3, according to Jinshi Data, the WeChat official account "Chongqing Pi Yao" stated on September 2 that recently there have been reports from the public about illegal individuals impersonating the Chongqing Branch of the People's Bank of China, falsely promoting digital yuan through misleading publicity, claiming "paid promotion," "high returns," and "sharing merchant profits," thereby deceiving the public and causing negative social impact.
In response, the Chongqing Branch of the People's Bank of China issues the following risk alert to the general public: Digital yuan is a legal tender in digital form issued by the People's Bank of China, exchangeable with physical currency at a 1:1 ratio, has no speculative value, and does not involve any promotional rebate activities. The Chongqing Branch of the People's Bank of China has never released any announcements regarding "earning high returns through digital yuan investment and trading," "rebates for promoting digital yuan," or "paid recruitment of digital yuan pilot promoters." Relevant organizations, enterprises, and the general public are urged to remain vigilant, carefully verify information, and avoid being defrauded.
