TechFlow, July 31 — Bo Hines, Executive Director of the White House Cryptocurrency Committee, declined to disclose the exact amount of Bitcoin held by the U.S. government during the latest episode of his podcast. Earlier reports indicated that the actual number of Bitcoin held by the U.S. government may be significantly lower than the 200,000 coins previously estimated by Trump's cryptocurrency advisor David Sacks, with current figures suggesting only 29,000 coins.
Regarding the specific figure, Hines stated it is "currently not discussable," but confirmed the government plans to increase its Bitcoin holdings through a "budget-neutral" approach. Notably, due to differences in asset classification, only seized Bitcoin that has completed judicial procedures can be officially counted as government assets, while Bitcoin still under seizure remains subject to legal uncertainty.
