TechFlow news, July 31 — Walrus Protocol, a blockchain storage protocol built on Sui, announced a partnership with decentralized AI training platform FLock.io. FLock.io has selected Walrus as its core data infrastructure to build a secure and privacy-focused environment for AI model development within the Sui ecosystem.
The initial focus of the collaboration is strengthening FLock.io's FL Alliance through Walrus and SEAL. Walrus will provide decentralized broadcasting and storage of model parameters and training results for federated learning nodes. SEAL, a decentralized confidential management system, ensures that only verified alliance members can access or contribute encrypted gradients and data, enabling strict access control and data confidentiality.
Looking ahead, both parties plan to advance truly agent-native AI experiences on Sui. The next phase will focus on fine-tuning an open-source foundational model to suit agent interaction objectives in the Sui environment, with the ultimate goal of launching a Copilot prototype for the Sui blockchain featuring Move-native code generation, smart contract assistance, and context-aware intelligent reasoning.
Notably, Walrus is a next-generation storage protocol designed for AI agents, on-chain applications, and enterprises handling large-scale unstructured data. Serving as global data infrastructure for on-chain developers, Walrus has, in just over three months since mainnet launch, stored more than 800+ TB of encoded data and 14 million blobs, supporting hundreds of projects built on its network.
