TechFlow, July 13 — According to Jinshi Data, analysts expressed concerns over the economic and diplomatic consequences following U.S. President Trump's Saturday threat to impose a 30% tariff on goods imported from Mexico and the European Union starting August 1.
Mary Lovely, senior fellow at the Peterson Institute for International Economics, warned that Trump's tariffs would eventually lead to price increases and job losses, while Alan Sykes from Stanford Law School said he worries whether the United States can be seen as a credible party in future negotiations.
