TechFlow News — On June 24, Aptos Labs, in collaboration with Jump Crypto, officially launched Shelby, a high-performance, decentralized hot storage network built for real-time Web3 applications across streaming, AI data, social platforms, and DePIN use cases.
Shelby leverages a global network of high-performance nodes, fiber-optic backbones, and on-chain programmable architecture to deliver cloud-equivalent read/write speeds and reliability. It overcomes the centralization and performance limitations of traditional Web2 services, offering sub-second response times, pay-as-you-go pricing, token gating, DRM, smart contract-based access control, and dynamic pricing capabilities.
Projects including Metaplex, Story Protocol, and Pipe Network will be among the first to integrate, while NBCUniversal plans to adopt Shelby for streaming applications, further validating its potential as cross-chain real-time infrastructure.
The Shelby Developer Testnet (Devnet) is expected to launch in Q4 2025, supporting multi-chain ecosystems such as Aptos, Ethereum, and Solana.
