TechFlow, April 22 — According to Decrypt, Perplexity AI CEO Aravind Srinivas said on Monday that the company will testify in the U.S. Department of Justice's antitrust case against Google. Perplexity opposes the DOJ's proposed structural remedy requiring Google to sell its Chrome browser, stating that "no other company could operate a browser of such scale without impacting quality." The company argues the real issue lies in the restrictive environment of the Android system, where device manufacturers are forced to pre-install Google apps in order to access critical services like the Play Store. Perplexity’s suggested solution is to grant consumers the right to choose default apps, rather than mandating product divestitures.
