TechFlow news: On March 19, Deribit issued an official warning reminding users to beware of a new type of job recruitment scam. Scammers are impersonating recruiters from well-known companies such as Deribit, luring job seekers with high-paying positions, then directing victims to complete "online assessments" that install malware, or defrauding them by offering "exclusive onboarding benefits" such as discounted shares, and even inviting applicants to attend interviews at fake office locations carrying their work laptops.
Deribit noted that these scams primarily target senior employees or developers in an attempt to gain access to sensitive systems. To prevent such fraud, users should verify the authenticity of recruiter accounts and directly contact the company's HR department through official channels to confirm job postings. Deribit expects this scamming method will soon spread to other industries.
