TechFlow news — On February 19, Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin stated that there is currently no such thing as "ETH 3.0." Although Justin Drake's five-year plan is often mistakenly referred to as ETH 3.0, it only pertains to the consensus layer, not the execution layer.
Regarding the relationship between L1 and L2, Vitalik noted that there is already a clear roadmap in place, including enhancing L1 performance (raising the gas limit, introducing Verkle trees, etc.), improving cross-L2 interoperability, and optimizing blob space.
Vitalik emphasized that the immediate priority is strengthening L1 capabilities to ensure transactions that should occur on L1 can proceed smoothly, while also expanding blob sizes and maintaining the adaptability of the Ethereum community.
