TechFlow reports on January 17 that according to official announcements, Bitlayer, a Bitcoin L2 solution, has launched Finality Bridge—the first BTC bridge based on BitVM technology. This minimal-trust bridging solution enables users to securely mint BTC into Yield BTC (YBTC) tokens, which can be used in DeFi activities across the Bitlayer and other blockchain ecosystems.
Finality Bridge leverages BitVM smart contracts, fraud proofs, and zero-knowledge proofs, offering high security, native yield generation, and programmability. It is now live on testnet and will later expand to multi-chain ecosystems including Ethereum and Solana.
