TechFlow news — On January 13, according to Protos, the Los Angeles home of Moonbirds founder Kevin Rose was completely destroyed in the recent California wildfires. Rose shared footage on the social platform Threads showing himself walking through burned-out cars and his ruined house, stating, "Unfortunately lost everything in the fire—nothing remains."
Since erupting on Wednesday, the wildfire has forced nearly 180,000 people to evacuate and has claimed at least 10 lives. This blaze ranks as one of the most destructive wildfires in California's history.
The crypto industry in Los Angeles has also been impacted, with Bitcoin Office in Santa Monica and Swan Bitcoin employees facing threats from the fires. Approximately 10,000 structures have been destroyed, and multiple crypto enthusiasts have suffered financial losses due to the destruction of wallets and credentials.
In December 2021, Rose founded PROOF, the company behind Moonbirds, which he sold last year to Yuga Labs. As part of the deal, Rose was set to serve as an advisor to Yuga Labs during a "brief transition period."
