TechFlow News — January 7 — According to an official announcement, Ethereum Layer 2 network Optimism has released its 2024 recap:
- The Superchain built on the OP Stack saw significant growth, with nearly 50% of Ethereum's L2 transactions now supported by the Superchain ecosystem;
- Permissionless fault proofs were launched, paving the way for the first phase of decentralization for OP Stack chains;
- Interoperability was enhanced;
- Optimism strengthened support for ERC-7683 and developed ERC-7802;
- The Optimism Collective continued advancing innovation in scalable Ethereum solutions;
- Over 20 million OP tokens were distributed to users who created meaningful impact through two airdrops;
- Four major campaigns boosted user engagement, distributing more than 3.3 million OP tokens to winners.
Optimism also shared its outlook for 2025, stating that the coming year will focus heavily on interoperability, aiming to establish the Superchain as the premier DeFi platform and attract more developers through improved developer tools.
Notably, Optimism aims to become a simpler and more valuable platform for building and bootstrapping applications through comprehensive development tools, while uniting Ethereum via interoperability and other initiatives.
