TechFlow news — On December 20, according to an official announcement, the Eigen Foundation has awarded AltLayer a grant of 1 million EIGEN tokens in recognition of its ongoing contributions to the Eigen Layer ecosystem. AltLayer announced it will return all received tokens to the community through two distribution phases: the first phase will distribute 500,000 EIGEN tokens starting this week to reALT holders and stakers, while the second phase of 500,000 tokens will be distributed upon the mainnet launch of Eigen Layer V2 in 2025.
According to the announcement, the first-phase distribution will begin on December 20, 2024, at 11:00 (Beijing time) and continue until February 20, 2025, at 11:00. To qualify, users must have held reALT between May 9, 2024, and December 12, 2024.
