TechFlow reported on September 5, according to The Block, that travel search platform Skyscanner has announced a strategic partnership with blockchain-powered travel service provider Travala. This collaboration marks the first time cryptocurrency payments have been fully integrated into a mainstream travel search platform, positioning Travala to compete directly with traditional online travel giants such as Expedia and Booking.com.
Travala will provide access to its inventory of 2.2 million hotels across 230 countries on Skyscanner, supporting bookings with over 100 cryptocurrencies including Bitcoin and Ethereum. Travala CEO Juan Otero emphasized that this partnership will significantly enhance the visibility and practicality of cryptocurrencies within the travel industry.
