TechFlow reports that on July 18, on-chain investigator ZachXBT posted on X, stating through on-chain data analysis that the WazirX hack bears the hallmarks of attacks carried out by the North Korean hacking group Lazarus Group.
ZachXBT said he tracked over $230 million in the WazirX hacker incident, finding that the attacker conducted test transactions via Tornado Cash on July 10 and transferred funds from multiple addresses—ultimately pointing to modus operandi associated with Lazarus Group.
ZachXBT urged the WazirX team to release their investigation findings, noting that while the Arkham bounty task has been solved, the usefulness of identifying the hacker's KYC exchange deposits may be limited since KYC accounts can be easily purchased online.
