TechFlow reports that the Helium community is discussing a new proposal, HIP 128, which suggests creating an ENERGY subnetwork to reward users for participation in the energy market through solar power generation and battery energy storage.
The subnetwork will support the integration and incentivization of distributed energy resources (DERs), enabling residential users to contribute to grid stability and receive rewards. Key benefits include dual mining, increased network activity and Data Credit consumption, entry into the renewable energy sector, and the promotion of green energy practices.
