TechFlow reports that the BNB Greenfield network is about to undergo a hard fork, introducing major updates and enhanced platform capabilities.
The Serengeti testnet hard fork is scheduled for block height 8,285,529, expected at 07:00 UTC on May 16. The mainnet Serengeti hard fork is scheduled for block height 7,861,456, expected at 07:00 UTC on May 29.
The hard fork will not affect account balances on Greenfield; all stored data and objects will remain accessible.
Greenfield will introduce a new cross-chain channel "ExecutorChannel" and the corresponding cross-application "ExecutorApp", implement a storage fee payer, and add a new API for storage providers to query recommended virtual group family IDs. Additionally, there are several user experience improvements, including the introduction of the storage fee payer and enhanced cross-chain programming.
