TechFlow reports that Polygon Labs has announced plans to introduce restaking and a public bridge in the upcoming Polygon 2.0 upgrade, enabling integration with the new zk chains. The public bridge will connect all Polygon chains and deploy zero-knowledge (ZK) security proofs on Ethereum, thereby securing all Polygon chains simultaneously.
The restaking mechanism will allow the use of MATIC tokens for staking across different networks, meaning network participants can leverage MATIC to secure multiple networks. The transition to Polygon 2.0 is expected to begin implementation in the first quarter of next year.
