South Korea's KOSPI index closed down 360.58 points, a decline of 5.99%, at 5663.08 points, hitting the lowest closing level since April 7, with an intraday drop once exceeding 12%, triggering circuit breakers for two consecutive trading days. SK Hynix fell 9.6% after earnings, with an intraday drop once exceeding 17%, setting a record for the largest intraday decline; Samsung Electronics fell 5.2%.
