TechFlow reports that on July 16, Injective stated it has submitted a transfer agent registration application to the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.
Transfer agents are responsible for maintaining official ownership records of securities and handling transfer changes. In traditional markets, this function is typically maintained off-chain by specialized institutions. This application aims to migrate this core market function on-chain, making the token itself the record of ownership, thereby enabling tokenized securities to be registered and transferred within seconds, reducing intermediary verification steps.
This application is part of a series of initiatives by Injective to bring institutions on-chain. Injective also released a MiCAR whitepaper to expand its business in a regulated manner within EU member states.
