TechFlow News, June 5: According to cryptocurrency journalist Eleanor Terrett, the U.S. House Committee on Ways and Means is circulating a package of seven draft proposals on digital asset taxation, aiming to comprehensively revise U.S. tax rules for cryptocurrencies.
The drafts cover stablecoin transactions, mining and staking, crypto lending, wash-sale rules, charitable donations, and a voluntary disclosure program for taxpayers with past noncompliant digital asset tax filings.
This move effectively splits the Miller-Horsford Digital Asset PARITY Act and a similar bill introduced last year by Senator Lummis into several standalone proposals. These drafts are expected to be central topics at Tuesday’s cryptocurrency taxation hearing.
