TechFlow reports that on May 21, according to The Information, Anthropic announced it is in negotiations with Microsoft to lease computing resources powered by Microsoft’s in-house AI server chips to meet its growing demands for AI model training and inference.
According to sources familiar with the matter, the discussions involve Microsoft providing server compute services based on its proprietary chips through its data centers—a move that would become a key option for Anthropic to expand its compute supply. If finalized, the deal would mark a significant milestone in Microsoft’s commercialization of its AI chips.
