TechFlow News, May 6: According to Decrypt, Apple has agreed to pay $250 million to settle a class-action lawsuit alleging that it overstated the AI capabilities of its iPhone devices. Under the settlement terms, U.S. consumers who purchased eligible iPhone 15 or iPhone 16 models between June 10, 2024, and March 29, 2025, are expected to receive compensation ranging from $25 to $95 per device, covering approximately 36 million devices. The lawsuit centers on Apple Intelligence features—announced by Apple in June 2024—including an enhanced Siri—that allegedly failed to materialize as advertised. Apple denies any wrongdoing and states that the dispute concerns only two add-on features within the Apple Intelligence suite.
