TechFlow News, May 5: Greg Brockman, co-founder and president of OpenAI, stated that his current stake in OpenAI is worth nearly $30 billion, making him one of the company’s largest individual shareholders. Brockman confirmed this figure during his first appearance as a witness in a highly publicized legal dispute between OpenAI and Elon Musk. During cross-examination, Brockman affirmed that the value of his shares exceeds $20 billion and responded “Yes” when asked whether the figure is “closer to $30 billion.”
He also stated that he has not invested any personal funds into the startup. Musk has accused Brockman and OpenAI CEO Sam Altman of abandoning OpenAI’s original nonprofit mission and instead using the project for personal gain. Musk is seeking several remedies, including the removal of Altman and Brockman from their leadership positions. (Jin10)
