TechFlow News, April 21: The Mantle team today released an updated statement regarding the KelpDAO rsETH incident. The official statement emphasizes that the Mantle underlying network, official bridge, and core assets remain fully intact and 100% secure.
Key points are as follows:
1. Underlying network, official bridge, and core assets remain 100% secure: LayerZero has confirmed that the vulnerability is entirely confined to KelpDAO’s rsETH configuration, with zero spillover impact on other assets or applications. The attacker never interacted with any Mantle contracts or markets. Recent localized liquidity pressure stems from the overflow effect of a third-party cross-chain vulnerability—not from any issue with Mantle’s infrastructure. Protective suspension measures remain in place and will be lifted once appropriate conditions are confirmed.
2. The Mantle ecosystem continues to demonstrate resilience and strength: Since April 18, capital has been steadily flowing back into the Mantle ecosystem. On-chain data shows that core USD-denominated assets saw approximately $204 million repaid within 48 hours; liquidity conditions continue normalizing, reflecting the high maturity and resilience of the Mantle community.
3. Coordinated recovery plan: Mantle is actively engaging with the Aave team and other affected protocols to coordinate a recovery plan—including potential treasury participation.
Mantle stated it remains firmly aligned with ecosystem builders and will continue providing timely, substantive updates.
