TechFlow News: On April 16, according to CoinDesk, Ashly Robinson (31), a U.S. social media influencer and fiancée of Joe McCann—founder of the crypto hedge fund Asymmetric—was found unconscious on April 9 at the luxury resort Zuri Zanzibar in Zanzibar and later pronounced dead. Tanzanian police stated that Robinson died by suicide following a heated argument with McCann, which hotel staff intervened in twice. However, her family has disputed this conclusion and launched a GoFundMe campaign with a $50,000 target, which has already surpassed its goal. Currently, McCann’s passport has been seized, and he is required to remain in Tanzania pending forensic autopsy results. Notably, McCann’s Liquid Alpha fund, which suffered losses of up to 78% in 2025, announced liquidation last December.
