TechFlow News, April 1: According to JINSHI Data, St. Louis Fed President Musalem stated on Wednesday that energy shocks related to a war with Iran would certainly affect overall inflation and could also impact core price pressures. Speaking at an event hosted by the American Enterprise Institute in Washington, Musalem said: “I expect commodity price increases to translate one-to-one into higher overall inflation, leading to a period of elevated overall inflation.” He added: “Core inflation will also experience some pass-through effect, and I will closely monitor both the extent of this pass-through and the correlation between overall and core inflation.”
