TechFlow News: On March 30, according to a notice issued by the Urumqi Municipal Public Security Bureau’s High-Tech Zone (Xinshi District) Branch, on March 25, 2026, officers from the Ergong Township Police Station discovered an illegal electronic “mining rig” repair operation during routine inspections at the Yuhang Road Small and Micro-Enterprise Park in Xinshi District. The site contained a large quantity of disassembled and repair-bound mining rigs, allegedly violating China’s nationwide ban on the domestic production, sale, repair, leasing, and托管 (custodial management) of mining rigs. Additionally, serious safety hazards were identified, including unauthorized electrical wiring and non-compliant fire safety equipment. On-site, law enforcement personnel inventoried and lawfully seized 310 mining rigs awaiting repair, and ordered the involved party to immediately cease illegal activities. The case has now been transferred to relevant departments for further investigation and handling.
