TechFlow News, March 29: BNP Paribas’ French commercial banking division announced it will launch six cryptocurrency exchange-traded notes (ETNs) for individual, corporate, private banking, and Hello bank! customers in France starting March 30, 2026. The ETNs will track Bitcoin and Ethereum.
These products can be subscribed to autonomously via securities accounts and fall under the regulatory framework of the European Union’s Markets in Financial Instruments Directive II (MiFID II). They will be issued by prominent asset management firms selected by BNP Paribas. Investors need not hold cryptocurrencies directly to gain indirect exposure to their price movements. The bank stated that these products will subsequently be rolled out to wealth management clients outside France.
