TechFlow News, March 26: According to JINSHI Data, French Trade Minister Papin stated on Thursday that G7 finance ministers, central bank governors, and energy ministers will discuss releasing strategic petroleum reserves at their meeting next week. He said, “The focus of the discussion will be on releasing strategic reserves.” Iran’s conflict with the United States and Israel has effectively blocked the Strait of Hormuz, disrupting approximately one-fifth of global energy supplies. On March 11, International Energy Agency (IEA) member countries agreed to release a portion of their strategic reserves to ease the situation; IEA Executive Director Birol stated that further releases could be made if necessary.
