TechFlow News, March 17: According to CriptoNoticias, on March 16, 2026, a court in Buenos Aires, Argentina ordered a nationwide block of the prediction market platform Polymarket. The National Communications Regulatory Agency (ENACOM) is responsible for enforcing the order, which also requires Google and Apple to remove Polymarket’s app from their local app stores. The block follows a complaint filed by the Buenos Aires Lottery Authority (LOTBA), which determined that Polymarket operates an unauthorized online gambling business under the guise of a “prediction market” and fails to implement identity and age verification—posing significant risks to users. Argentina thus becomes the second country in Latin America, after Colombia, to impose a full restriction on the platform.
