TechFlow News: On February 12, according to The Block, Bo Hines, CEO of Tether USA₮, announced at the New York Bitcoin Investor Week conference that Tether expects to become one of the top ten buyers of U.S. Treasury securities by 2026. As the largest stablecoin issuer by market capitalization, Tether currently has approximately $185 billion in USDT in circulation, with 83.11% of its reserves—over $122 billion—invested in U.S. Treasuries, placing it among the world’s top 20 holders of government bonds. Hines stated that USDT users are growing by roughly 30 million per quarter, and the newly launched USAT stablecoin—compliant with the GENIUS Act—will further drive demand for U.S. Treasury purchases.
