TechFlow News, January 27: According to an official announcement from Tether, the company has officially launched USA₮, a federally regulated, U.S. dollar-backed stablecoin. Designed to operate within the U.S. federal stablecoin framework established by the GENIUS Act, USA₮ is issued by Anchorage Digital Bank—the first federally regulated stablecoin issuer in the United States.
USA₮ is a digital dollar tailored specifically for the U.S. market, with Cantor Fitzgerald serving as the designated reserve custodian and preferred primary dealer. Bo Hines, former Executive Director of the White House Crypto Council, serves as CEO of Tether USA₮.
Paolo Ardoino, CEO of Tether, stated that USA₮ offers institutions a U.S.-made, dollar-backed token option. In its initial phase, USA₮ will be available on platforms including Bybit, Crypto.com, Kraken, OKX, and Moonpay.
