TechFlow News: On January 27, according to Coinpost, HashPort—a Japanese Web3 company that previously developed the digital wallet for the Osaka Kansai Expo—will launch a zero-fee stablecoin payment service on January 28. Leveraging blockchain technology, this service eliminates the transaction fees traditionally borne by merchants in cashless payments.
Users can simply scan a merchant’s QR code using HashPort’s wallet app to complete payments with their held stablecoins. Merchants need only download the app and register an account to join the system, with no usage or registration fees required. HashPort initially plans to roll out this service for foreign tourists holding stablecoins, targeting venues such as restaurants.
