A plenary session of the House of Representatives was held, during which House Speaker Fukushiro Nukaga read out the dissolution proclamation, formally dissolving the House of Representatives. Earlier that morning, Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi decided to dissolve the House of Representatives at a cabinet meeting. Subsequently, Prime Minister Takaichi and all cabinet ministers signed the resolution to dissolve the House of Representatives.
