TechFlow news, January 23 — According to Techinasia, venture capital firm A16z announced it has led a $150 million seed funding round for AI inference startup Inferact. Inferact is led by the maintainers of vLLM, an open-source inference engine currently used by companies including Meta, Google, and Character.ai.
Inferact plans to support the development of vLLM with financial and engineering resources to address growing model complexity, hardware diversity, and deployment scale. Meanwhile, the company will also develop the next generation of commercial inference engines, collaborating with existing providers to enhance software performance and flexibility.
