TechFlow news, January 22 — According to official announcements, Mantle has unveiled a key protocol upgrade, officially adopting Ethereum Blobs as its core data availability layer. This move marks Mantle's evolution from its previous Validium architecture to a full-fledged Ethereum ZK Rollup, aligning the security of its transaction data with that of the Ethereum mainnet.
This strategic transition is made possible by Ethereum's latest Fusha upgrade, which significantly enhances Blob data capacity and throughput. As a result, Mantle can now provide Ethereum-level security for its ecosystem applications without compromising its low-fee, low-latency performance.
Joshua, Mantle's product lead, stated that this represents a natural outcome of deep alignment between infrastructure development and Ethereum’s scaling roadmap. While adopting Ethereum’s native data layer, Mantle will continue collaborating with ecosystem partners such as EigenLayer, focusing on high-performance perpetual contracts, prediction markets, and AI infrastructure, to jointly advance the scalability of Web3.
