TechFlow news, January 10 — According to POLITICO, sources revealed that Senate Agriculture Committee Chairman John Boozman is considering delaying the committee vote on the landmark Crypto Market Structure Act legislation if bipartisan negotiations with Democrats make substantial progress in the coming days.
Boozman still plans to take up the crypto market structure bill for consideration on January 15, but he has indicated willingness to adjust the timeline based on progress in talks between his team and Senator Cory Booker, the lead Democratic negotiator. If significant progress is made over the weekend, he may postpone the vote to solidify bipartisan support for the bill.
The Senate Banking Committee also plans to hold a hearing on crypto market structure on January 15. The Banking Committee oversees provisions related to the Securities and Exchange Commission, while the Agriculture Committee handles those pertaining to the Commodity Futures Trading Commission.
