TechFlow news, on January 6, according to Bitcoin Magazine, the U.S. Department of Justice may have violated President Trump's Executive Order 14233 by liquidating the Bitcoin surrendered by Samourai Wallet developers in a plea agreement. According to a document titled "Asset Liquidation Agreement," the U.S. Marshals Service (USMS) sent 57.55 Bitcoins (worth approximately $6.36 million) surrendered by developers Keonne Rodriguez and William Hill directly to a Coinbase Prime address on November 3, 2025, indicating a likely sale.
President Trump's Executive Order 14233 explicitly states that Bitcoin obtained through criminal or civil asset forfeiture proceedings should be held as part of the U.S. Strategic Bitcoin Reserve (SBR) and must not be sold.
