TechFlow, December 30 — According to the latest report by crypto research firm Delphi Digital, GameFi industry funding in 2025 declined over 55% year-on-year, with most highly anticipated projects failing to meet expectations. However, "Web2.5 games," which use blockchain purely as infrastructure and often skip token mechanisms, are quietly rising. Studios such as Fumb Games, Mythical Games, and Wemade/Wemix have successfully leveraged blockchain technology to improve profit margins, boost user engagement, and create new revenue streams. In contrast, while Web3-native games have generated six- to seven-figure revenues, their player bases remain small and heavily populated by bots, quickly losing appeal once incentives dry up.
