TechFlow news, December 10 — According to Asia-Plus, Tajikistan has passed amendments to its Criminal Code introducing criminal penalties for illegally using electricity to mine virtual assets and cryptocurrencies. Under the new regulations, offenders face fines of 15,000 to 75,000 somoni or imprisonment from 2 to 8 years. Previously, cryptocurrencies in Tajikistan existed in a regulatory gray area, being neither legal nor illegal.
