Through challenges, united in SOON — A letter from Joanna to the SOON community
"You are receiving not just a token airdrop, but also my deepest heartfelt gratitude."
Hi everyone, I'm Joanna, co-founder and CEO of SOON.
Today we announced our listing on Binance Alpha. As the airdrop approaches, reflecting on our journey and everyone who has accompanied and supported us, I dedicate this letter to our earliest angel investors and Cobuilders who believed in us from the start, to every engineer building the underlying technology, to every NFT holder who minted with conviction, to every builder developing products on SOON, and to all the Red Pill participants and community members who have continuously supported us. What you're receiving is not just a token airdrop, but my deepest, heartfelt gratitude.
LiveTrade — Why we built simpfor.fun, chose live-streaming for user acquisition, and high-performance SVM chains
SOON’s latest product release isn’t a technical upgrade or infrastructure update—it’s the copy-trading tool simpfor.fun (V2 launches this week). This is because trading remains at the core of Web3, serving as the gateway for users outside the ecosystem to enter Web3, and copy-trading is the fastest way for ordinary users to access that core. Instead of asking new users to parse complex information in Discord groups or learn how to trade contracts, we let them one-click replicate trades from top on-chain addresses. This simple action almost entirely removes cognitive barriers and directly presents the P&L data—the metric most important to the community—in an intuitive way. This is only possible due to blockchain's inherent transparency.
At the same time, we are acutely aware of RWA's immense potential. At this week’s Solana Accelerate conference, we’re seeing more institutions bringing assets on-chain—not just Circle’s USDC and Blackrock’s equities, but also gold on Hyperliquid, and soon Drift and other projects will bring U.S. stocks onto blockchains. The market for copy-trading tools built around these RWA assets will be even larger.

Unlike existing tools, we’ve introduced the concept of LiveTrade. With simpfor.fun V2, simpfor.fun will be seamlessly integrated into live-streaming environments. Compared to fragmented social media and shallow short videos, live streaming naturally offers genuine connection, higher user stickiness, and stronger community cohesion.
For example, a viewer watching a stream on Twitch or SOOP can use a plugin to simultaneously enter simpfor.fun and copy-trade smart-money wallets. Any type of streamer can earn 80% commission by introducing simpfor.fun—even without any trading experience, they can generate profits for their audience. This represents the lowest-barrier monetization channel for streamers, capable of transforming the entire live-streaming industry landscape. Thus, LiveTrade emerges as the ideal bridge from Web2 to Web3, creating a superhighway for users to enter Web3.

On-chain copy-trading hinges above all on performance—everything we do relies on high-performance chains. Any high-performance blockchain infrastructure needs copy-trading products to enable ordinary users to participate in high-frequency trading. Especially for real-world assets like gold and U.S. stocks that involve massive-scale transactions, replicating exchange-level high-frequency strategies requires millisecond confirmation speeds and horizontal scalability—not nice-to-have features, but essential. High-performance chains thus become the inevitable choice. SOON’s high-performance infrastructure ensures transaction speed and efficiency rival traditional financial systems.

An internal team conflict that led to our greatest breakthrough
Looking back from SOON’s early days until now, something we’ve never shared before is that there was once major internal conflict: should we prioritize technical security or community growth? From CTO Andrew’s perspective, he strongly advocated first building a fully decoupled SVM to ensure SOON’s Rollup would have fault proofs, making it secure enough to avoid bridge hacks—an achievement no other SVM project has yet accomplished. But as CEO, I deeply believed SOON must be community-driven rather than VC-dependent, meaning we needed to rapidly deliver genuinely valuable products to the community—even if that meant sacrificing some technical or security perfection early on.
This fundamental clash could have torn us apart, but ultimately made our team stronger. Through collective effort, we found the perfect balance. Decoupled SVM launched three months later than forked SVMs, but achieved both extremely high performance and robust security, re-architected the L2 derivation mechanism, enabled horizontal scaling, and integrated Firedancer.
Meanwhile, we launched InterSOON, RedPill, Coming SOON NFT, BigBang—building a powerful community. After launching svmBNB and soonBase mainnet, plus five other projects’ SVM chains, our infrastructure team delivered Simpfor.fun, a more user-facing product. Our community is unshakable—but unlike movement-style projects that rely solely on community without shipping products, our community activities are built on solid products. We saw the power of product and community during Uniswap and Arbitrum’s TGEs, which inspired us to enter this space. We saw how Solana overcame challenges through product and community strength. While this year we’ve seen projects like Movement launch tokens based on so-called “community” without real products, such models will eventually fail. We will keep iterating—especially in the LiveTrade era, where copy-trading via Simpforfun within live streams on high-performance chains represents the ultimate path for blockchain users.
All our achievements would not have been possible without contributions from the entire community. Thank you to our team for helping us balance technical security with delivering better products to the community. Special thanks to our Gen Z Dev Rel and many marketing team members—from whom I’ve learned so much. This constant learning and building is something I truly only feel within the Solana community. Thank you to CZ, Toly, and Jesse for your support on X.

Thank you to Lily, Adam, Yaoyao and other members from Solana/Solar/Superteam; Jed, Max, Rex, Joe and other members from Solana Labs/Anza; Mustafa@Celestia, Victor@Manta Network, Sreeram@Eigenlayer, Jay @Four Pillers, Shiv@Boundless, Chloe@Carv, and other co-contributors for your continuous support from early days until now.
