Why has Phala Network suddenly gained market popularity?

Many people are puzzled—why did $PHA suddenly explode in popularity? To put it abstractly, even @PhalaNetwork might not have expected to become the chosen one overnight. The surge of PHA is driven by both coincidence and inevitability; it’s truly not something that any conspiracy or deliberate scheme could orchestrate. There are three key factors: readiness in TEE technology, securing ai16z as a strategic partner, and perfect timing with the rise of AI Agents:
1) Phala Network’s long-term investment in TEE technology is the "inevitable" foundation behind this breakout. Why do I say that?
TEE (Trusted Execution Environment) isn't a new concept, but over the past few years, within mainstream crypto narratives, it has remained a niche pursuit. We've seen many projects competing on high-performance chains using languages like Rust or Move, and we’ve witnessed the dominant wave of ZK-based technologies. While TEE, along with MPC, FHE, and Blind Compute, occasionally appears in specific project differentiators, it has never reached the same level of attention as ZK.
In fact, while major blockchains have focused on optimizing "blockspace" efficiency (MEV, TPS, gas costs, etc.), ZK technology itself has only been applied at the most basic level—verifying trusted state transitions between Layer 1 and Layer 2. The deeper advantages of ZK—such as zkVMs, underlying zkSNARKs innovations, and restructuring blockchain data—are still largely unrealized, let alone achieving broad mass adoption.
The main reason is that previous technical narratives all emphasized purely "on-chain" environments. ZK represents the first real step toward off-chain computation with on-chain verification—but its ultimate goal still serves the on-chain world. In contrast, TEE's trusted execution environment is inherently designed for secure "off-chain" enclaves, acting as a pre-processing layer.
It can serve on-chain applications and has gradually gained relevance thanks to emerging narratives around Unichain, Flashbots, and pre-confirmation mechanisms led by top-tier projects. Put simply: without integration into blockchain, TEE is just a mature Web2 technology; but when combined with blockchain, it enables powerful use cases such as trusted pre-processing and isolated privacy-preserving computation.
Therefore, anyone or any project daring enough to pioneer TEE in blockchain must possess patience, vision, and foresight. On this front, PhalaNetwork undeniably holds a mature and proven TEE solution.
2) What Phala Network didn’t see coming was the sudden emergence of a mysterious client named "ai16z" adopting their TEE solution—the biggest "coincidental" factor behind PHA’s explosion.
When I saw AI-Pool’s official Twitter account post about an AI Agent autonomously launching a token, I immediately published a technical thread explaining how the TEE solution works (enabling AI to self-manage private keys and sign transactions securely within a confidential computing enclave), and highlighted the historic opportunity potentially unlocked by the collaboration between phala and ai16z. (That moment also happened to be an ideal entry point for retail investors.)
There's no need to elaborate on ai16z’s current status as a commercial powerhouse in the AI Agent space. The fact that AI-POOL chose Phala’s TEE solution signifies at least two things:

Once you grasp this, it becomes clear what Phala stands to gain from the phenomenon of AI-Pool and autonomous agent minting. As the AI Agent tokenization trend accelerates, TEE-powered private key management and remote attestation services will become essential infrastructure. Meanwhile, the complementary on-chain verifiable consensus mechanisms tailored for TEE’s off-chain environment will serve as strong value-adds—positioning Phala as foundational infrastructure in the AI Agent era.
So yes, I bought PHA—not necessarily because I fully understand every detail of Phala Network, but because I clearly see the market potential and incremental opportunities arising from the convergence of AI Agents + TEE, and AI Agents + blockchain.
3) What truly gave Phala Network a rocket boost is the currently surging AI Agent narrative. I’ve pinned multiple articles on my Twitter profile highlights centered around the AI Agent theme. New followers are encouraged to review them—the underlying message across all these pieces can be summed up in four words: “don’t miss out, don’t miss out, don’t miss out.”
From AI MEMEs evolving into launchpad platforms like Virtual and Vvaifu, to standalone AI agents such as @aixbt_agent and Zerebro, then to frameworks and standards like ELIZA and ARC—and finally to older chains like Phala being swept onto the风口 (windfall)—everything is evolving at breakneck speed, far exceeding anyone’s expectations. Why?
Simply put: this is a generational opportunity, a bull run on par with DeFi Summer. Throughout this process, the explosion of innovative applications, the rush of capital, and arbitrage opportunities created by information asymmetry will ensure the scene remains fiercely hot.
That’s why I’m shouting so loudly—to help more retail investors capture alpha growth, and to encourage more projects to escape the stagnation of the old VC-token delivery trap.
A new narrative tornado is forming. Its purpose isn’t merely to blow dust (or chicken feathers) into your face as it passes by—but to lift you into the sky, turning you into a piggy riding the wind, rich beyond measure.
