Meme supercycle begins: Who is the true alpha caller?
Judging from the statistics, Murad is the most stable, POW and POE excel in PVP, while Ansem heads to FTM to open a new battlefield.
Author: WOO
Background
Meme coins have been constantly discussed throughout this cycle and represent the strongest-performing sector. Recently, KOL Murad delivered a speech at TOKEN2049 on the meme coin supercycle, claiming that the meme frenzy will last another 8 to 14 months. He released a list of meme coins he favors and aggressively promoted them. Among these, SPX—his top pick—had a market cap of only about $10 million when he first bought in. It now has a market cap of approximately $750 million, generating an unrealized profit of $8.3 million, earning him the title of the new "Meme Coin God."
He is also actively evangelizing on Twitter, repeatedly mentioning coins such as SPX, GIGA, PEPE, SIGMA, APU, and POPCAT.
However, even before Murad began heavily promoting meme coins, many other meme-focused KOLs were already frequently shilling various tokens. In this article, WOO X Research analyzes the performance of coins promoted by these influencers since October to determine who truly deserves the title of "King of Meme Calls."
Murad @MustStopMurad
Promotion Style: Favors cult-like meme coins, with SPX mentioned most frequently, followed by GIGA and POPCAT. The meme coins recommended by Murad typically have market caps ranging from $300M to $1.5B, and he rarely promotes low-market-cap "dog" coins. Most of these coins are currently trading at prices requiring only modest gains to reach all-time highs, indicating relatively small drawdowns from peak levels.

Ansem @blknoiz06
Overview: One of the most well-known KOLs on Solana, famous for calling SOL at $1.5, then successfully promoting BONK and WIF, which later surged 80x and 500x respectively.
Promotion Style:
Ansem doesn't only promote meme coins—he also supports "legitimate" projects like ENA, FTM, PRIME, CROWN, HNT, XNET, and CHEX. Recently, he has become highly bullish on the FTM chain, believing it could replicate SOL’s earlier success. He has strongly promoted FTM-based meme coins GOGLZ and EQUAL, both of which performed well after his endorsements, showing strong upside potential and limited drawdowns.
His promoted meme coins tend to be mid-to-high market cap, with WIF mentioned most frequently, followed by MEW. However, his Twitter feed is extremely cluttered, with retweets making up as much as 80% of his content—sometimes dozens of posts per day. He has also frequently retweeted Murad, clearly aligning with Murad’s meme philosophy, and openly identifies himself as part of the "Murad Team."

POW @traderpow
Overview: A seasoned on-chain degen with over 80,000 Telegram followers, primarily sharing timely Tier-1.5 meme coin calls. Due to the high frequency of messages and focus on low-market-cap coins on Telegram, the following statistics are based solely on Twitter mentions, excluding Telegram promotions. Projects such as CB, LABUBU, and 🧲 were launched after October; their returns are calculated based on closing prices on their first trading day.
Promotion Style: Prefers low-market-cap meme coins. As previously noted, CB, LABUBU, and 🧲 have all pulled back more than 50% from their peaks. Except for MOG, MEW, and SPX, all other promoted coins are still down more than 40% from their all-time highs. This suggests POW excels at short-term PVP (player-versus-player) meme plays and timely calls, but underperforms from a long-term perspective.

POΞ @Poe_Ether
Overview: A degen trader with nearly 200,000 Twitter followers and over 40,000 Telegram subscribers. Average tweet impressions hover around 15,000.
Promotion Style: Promotes a large number of coins, mostly small-to-mid market cap assets, with timely and frequent calls. His coverage spans multiple blockchains including ETH, SOL, BASE, and SUI. GIGA is the most frequently mentioned. Coins like SPX, GIGA, BITCOIN, GOAT, HODL, LOCKIN, and KEYCAT have seen relatively small drawdowns, whereas event-driven or DOGE-themed meme coins have performed the worst.

Summary
The only coin mentioned by all four KOLs is SPX. GIGA, BITCOIN, and MOG were each cited by three. A common trait among these coins is their "cult-like" characteristics.
Notably, LOCKIN helped elevate an ordinary user, @ctlarp, into prominence. He has held the coin steadfastly for 136 days at the time of writing, with his holdings now worth over $700,000. His entire Twitter feed is dedicated exclusively to this single asset—a perfect embodiment of "cult culture."
Returning to the four KOLs discussed, they are all renowned meme coin players, yet each adopts a distinct approach to "dog hunting."
Judging from the data, Murad appears the most consistent; POW and POE excel at short-term PVP plays; Ansem is pioneering a new front on FTM.
Has the meme coin supercycle just begun? Only time will tell.
