Catizen, a tap-to-earn and play-to-airdrop mini-app on Telegram, announced on September 7 that it had surpassed 34 million total users within its first six months of launch.
In a post on social media platform X, Catizen claimed to be the highest-revenue-generating app on Telegram, with over 800,000 paying users and an average revenue per paying user of $33.

Previously reported, Pluto Studio, the publisher behind Catizen, recently received an undisclosed investment from The Open Platform, the largest developer organization on the TON network.
Rapid Growth
Since launching in early 2024 as Pluto's first project, Catizen has gained support from Hashkey and Binance Labs.
According to one article, "HashKey will provide regulatory guidance and advice for Catizen and its other products, along with technical support for blockchain infrastructure operations."
This collaboration marks HashKey's official entry into the TON ecosystem, making Catizen HashKey’s first Web3 partner within the TON ecosystem.
Ben El-Baz, General Manager of HashKey Global, said a major motivation behind HashKey's participation is the rapidly growing number of developers on the TON blockchain. El-Baz believes this trend signals "a new, prosperous, and vibrant phase for the ecosystem."
El-Baz also noted that TON offers Catizen and other projects a unique advantage unmatched by other platforms: its massive user base of 900 million.
"It is precisely this vast user base that solves one of the most persistent challenges for Web3 builders: how to effectively acquire users," explained El-Baz.
Tap games, also known as "tap-to-earn" games, have been particularly prominent in 2024.
Another popular Telegram-based game, Hamster Kombat, recently surpassed 300 million users. The Hamster Foundation, the company behind the game, has been hinting at what could become the largest airdrop in history. To achieve this, they would need to surpass Uniswap's 2020 record, when its airdrop distributed more than $6.43 billion in digital assets.
