Ignition has launched $FBTC, a BTC-pegged, 1:1 fully-chain Bitcoin asset designed to enhance Bitcoin’s accessibility and utility. As a secure, decentralized, composable, and highly liquid Bitcoin asset, $FBTC can be widely used and easily integrated into various yield-enhancing strategies such as liquidity pools, collateral, and staking.
Driven by Ignition, $FBTC’s growth will be supported by a comprehensive roadmap and strong developer backing, ensuring long-term success and sustainable expansion.
FBTC Minting/Burning Functionality Now Live
Qualified users—including institutions and merchants meeting specific criteria and completing KYC/KYB procedures—can now mint and burn $FBTC. To ensure custody security, Cobo will serve as our initial custodian, managing users’ BTC assets via Multi-Party Computation (MPC) addresses. Additionally, Ignition has established a Security Council to oversee these custodial operations. Mantle, Antalpha Prime, and Cobo are the inaugural council members, with plans to onboard more members in the future.
