BlockTempo and The Sandbox launch the Game Jam hackathon! Yesterday (7th), Sébastien Borget, Co-Founder and COO of The Sandbox, together with BlockTempo and TempoX Growth's Ian, announced the kickoff of the first offline game hackathon in Taiwan at the Hong Kong Web3 GameFi summit, Gaming Expo.
Prizes: From generous cash rewards to global exposure
The Sandbox's inaugural Taiwan Game Jam is officially underway. All participating teams will be required to design a game on-site during the 2-day hackathon event on May 25–26. Winning teams will have the opportunity to publish their creations on The Sandbox platform. This two-day event will bring together game creators from around the world to showcase their talents in the metaverse.
Additionally, top teams will have the chance to exhibit their projects at the Asia Blockchain Summit this August, gaining visibility among thousands of attendees. Even more exciting for developers, outstanding teams may receive incubation and investment opportunities from TempoX. Winners will also gain promotional exposure through The Sandbox and BlockTempo’s community platforms, as well as other media and PR channels.

Currently, The Sandbox has over 700 partners, with more than 1,000 game experiences already launched on the platform!
Registration for the "Game Jam" is open from April 8 to 19 for anyone interested in game development—no age restrictions. Participants can join individually or form teams of up to four people. The only requirement is attendance at the two-day Game Jam event held in Taipei.
This is an open invitation to all game enthusiasts. Regardless of your experience level in game development, if you're passionate, you're welcome to take on the challenge.

Participants stand a chance to win a prize pool of 30,000 $SAND and LAND, and winning games may be featured on The Sandbox map and at offline events!

Additionally, the first 25 creators who independently publish their Game Jam experiences will receive a 400 $SAND reward. A Game Jam introductory AMA session will be held on April 19, open to all prospective teams. It will provide detailed competition information and reveal the designated game genre. You’ll have the chance to ask any questions you have. The full challenge theme will be unveiled simultaneously to all teams on the day of the event!
